Heh, we were right. I knew it felt like Clark didn't do anything...

Thanks for doing up the totals--it's always a huge help to be able to see them.

I know what you mean about Clark. I felt the same way a lot in the past 2 seasons. He's around a lot, but he doesn't seem to be central to the proceedings.

Oliver 24m, 49s

HOLY MOTHER. Christ on a stick, man.

Lois 25m, 48s (3)
Oliver 35m, 48s (2)

Bwah! WHAT!? She has an episode over him and he STILL beats her by 10 minutes? WTH, show. >:(

Thanks, though, V. :)

Not only is Lois behind Oliver in screentime...she's behind Tess.

Tell me again how Lois and Clois is being shoved down everyones throat, and how Chloe is being pushed aside...

I was positive Clark had less time than that lol. Have I mentioned yet that I really think it's awesome you do the screentime totals.

I know what you mean. It felt like less to me as well.

And Thanks :)

Considering that this was an "Oliver-centric" episode, I'm not surprised that he had the most screen time. However, even in "Clark-centric" episodes, how often does Clark get more than 20 minutes?

There's a girl at work who says the following all the time, "it is what it is." I guess that line is appropriate here for me.

Would it be a pain in the butt for you to look up the screen time for Jimmy from Sleeper? I'm just curious. I guess I can probably find it on your lj myself. :-)

ETA: I just looked it up and it was in the 22 minute range.

Jimmy had more screentime in Noir actually, 28m, 18s.

So, yeah, other characters have had major screentime in an episode. Oliver wasn't the first

By the way, Team America: World Police has been on my Netflix list for several years now, but I've just never gotten around to actually getting it.

Get it! Its hilarious. :)

24 minutes? Okay ... umm ... wow. Though I did giggle a little that you added in how long he was shirtless. I'm pretty sure that's in his contract somewhere.

I think next week will be more Clark centric and I'm thinking we'll even see a shirtless Clark! :D

I had a special request, LOL I think its hysterical that he spent over half his screentime shirtless, or with his shirt open.

I suspect we'll open get a shirt open Clark, but close enough for me...

Nope and Nope :)

I was singing that in my head because it was that cheesylame. Training montages are ruined for me because of Trey Parker.

Always fade out in a montage.........

Even Rocky had a montage...

I'm so glad I'm not the only person that loves that movie.

You're Welcome. I'm always glad to hear about how many people enjoy the numbers.

LOL! I love you for giving me the shirtless stats! You rock! I just knew it was over half his time. And am I queen of shallow for asking? :D

I'm actually surprised Clark's totals were so high. I'm gratified that he came in second, even if he only beat Tess by less than a minute.

You have to wonder why they felt it was so important to make such a big deal about Oliver's story. It honestly doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, and it makes me a little worried about the rest of the season. Has Tom asked for a diminished role? Are they pimping Oliver as the potential star of their ill-advised S9? Or is it the usual, they can't figure out what to do with their hero? I really hope this episode was the exception, and not the new rule.

Thank you bunches for the stats, both for this episode and the season so far. I find them fascinating, as always, and they give me plenty to ponder.

Nah, not the Queen of Shallow. Maybe the Queen of The Pretty!

I was totally surprised that Clark went over 15m. It sure didn't feel like it.

I think there's a great deal of love for JH/Oliver/GA from SV's PTB. And I'm sure they felt that since he was going to be a regular this season, they had to give him a "Very Special Episode". I don't think its an indicator of what is to come, but I think its a valid fear based on the last 2 seasons.

That is a very excellent point.

Yes, those numbers are what I expected them to be and they are depressing. *Shakes head* I was trying hard not to be bitter this season but it's a lost battle. And numbers are not the only thing bringing me down. *Sigh*

Sorry about the gloominess. Thanks for the totals!

(Oh, and the ratings went down this week. That's telling, I'd think)
Oct. 5th, 2008 04:23 pm (UTC)
No need to apologize for the gloominess. I'm remaining positive about the season for the time being, but there are definitely things in the spoilers that are giving me cause to worry.
Oct. 5th, 2008 11:01 am (UTC)
Thanks for the totals. If this is a one-time thing, and if it gives Tom a break, I can accept it. Besides, as nice as JH´s shirtless chest is to look at, he simply doesn´t do it for me. So let´s look forward to next week!
Oct. 5th, 2008 04:24 pm (UTC)
Right, I agree, this better be the exception and not the rule, though I do fear based on some of the spoilers we have. And we know Tom is going to have a diminished role in ep 15 as well.
Oct. 5th, 2008 12:49 pm (UTC)
::sighs:: Well, that was to be expected, I suppose. Still disappointing though, nonetheless. Here's hoping Clark' screentime bounces back to it's leading status from next week.

And this---:

Lois 25m, 48s (3)
Tess 28m, 42s (3)
Oliver 35m, 48s (2)

---there's definitely something wrong with this picture. Both newbies have more screentime than a series regular who's now in her fifth year. Oh, SV. You and your fascination with the shiny new toys. ::shakes head::
Oct. 5th, 2008 04:25 pm (UTC)
I'm hopeful Clark's numbers will be back in the 20m range next week. There are a few eps down the road I worry about though...

And yeah, for all the talk of a season of Clark/Lois, she certainly isn't dominating the screentime at all.
Oct. 9th, 2008 06:17 pm (UTC)
Well this is one of those episodes that my guess for Clark's screentime minutes is very close to the actual numbers, lol. Usually they end up surprising me instead.

It's still crazy though.
Oct. 9th, 2008 06:57 pm (UTC)
I was surprised. I would've put him at 13m+ He ended up with more then I thought he had.
