Copied and pasted a really fun character meme from pepsinger, but first I wanted to say Thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts on some of the controversial Smallville questions. I'm trying to come up with a round 2, so I hope you'll all join me again. Also, I had an idea for a picture spam of Clark, episode to episode. I was inspired by the recent Lois Lane pictorial by bopradar Starting all the way from S1, to the present. I figured I'd split the seasons into halves. I used to do a lot of TW pictorials at TWoP on the Tom Welling thread, but since I'm not feeling the love for TWoP like I used to, I think I'd like to try them out here...*if* I can figure out how to do them, that is. I'm determined to try.

And now to the character meme...

You can pick up to 2 characters for the "favorite" if you're that torn, :D. Copy and paste into your own LJs and answer!

1. Favorite Character(s)? Why?

I'm a Clark person, through and through. He's the character that hooked me at the beginning, and he's the character that keeps me watching. I'm not an apologist for him, and I get very frustrated with the writing for him, but I still love him. I think, for me, he's a character with heart. And as long as I can continue to at least understand where he's coming from, I'll still be able to find something to love about Smallville.

2. Least favorite character? Why?

Probably Lana. But I'm not a rabid Lana hater. I don't think she's the spawn of satan or anything. But again, the writing for her just frustrates me so. I think the reason I dislike Lana the most is that she's the one character that just seems to never be called on her decisions. While she may suffer consequences, no one ever grabs the girl by the shoulders and says "Well, what did you expect bonehead?"

3. What is your favorite character(s)' most endearing trait?

His great big heart, and his compassion

4. What is your favorite character(s)' least endearing trait?

Ugh, the temper, and the one track mind.

5. What is your favorite character(s)' best physical attribute?

How does one choose? I'll say those beautiful, clear, soulful, long lashed green eyes.

6. Is there anything likeable about your least favorite character? If so, what?

I found Lana's desire to protect Clark in S6 very endearing.

7. What's your favorite character(s)' best season? Worst season?

His best was probably S1 or S2 (sadly), his worst was S6 (even more sadly)

8. Do you relate to your favorite character(s)? How so?

Sometimes, but not really. I can relate to his loneliness. To the amount of pressure he's under. And though I hate to admit it, I can most definitely relate to his habit of hiding out.

9. What is one of your favorite character(s)' little "quirks" or sides of his/her/their personality that you like that makes them who they are?

Strangely enough, I don't know how to answer this question. Clark isn't really a "quirk" kind of character.

10. Sweetest thing he/she's ever done?

Oh, so many things. Most recently, it was filling Chloe's mom in on all of Chloe's achievements. I wish that has occured on screen. And Clark with little Maddie in "Fragile" was one of the most darling, sweetest things ever.

11. Which other character do you think brings out the best in your favorite character(s)?

I think Chloe and Lois bring out the best in Clark. Chloe because she helps bolster his confidence, and she's very encouraging of the more hero-ly side of Clark. And Lois, because she brings out his snarkier, more assertive side.

12. What's your favorite line of his/hers/theirs?

I've always been a major fan of the line from S1's "Leech" where Eric asks him what he would do with such great powers and he says "Stop people like you".

13. Favorite character(s)' best scene?

AHHH, so many to choose from. My brain, she is in overload!! But Clark shielding the little boy from the incoming meteor is such a classic Superman moment, I'll choose that.

14. His/her/their best episode(s)?

I'm hoping I haven't seen it yet. ;)

15. Name an episode that had the most character development for multiple characters? Why?

I always think of the S3 2 parter, Exile and Phoenix as real character defining eps. It set both Clark and Lex up for their respective arcs in S3, but it also re-established Chloe, showed Lana as the pursuer instead of the pursued, set up an arcs for Jonathan and Lionel too.

16. Favorite song they used on the show that best described the character(s)?

"Deeper Water" by Minnie Driver, used in "Pariah", and it reminds of Clark.

17. Name a song that you think describes your favorite character(s). Why did you choose this/these song(s)?

"I Know" by Jude. Basically, its a song that acknowledges how sad the person is, and how he tries to hide it, and how they'll never be alone.
"You have such a pretty smile, its a shame the things you hide behind it"

18. Do you think your affection for this/these character(s) is because of the writing? acting? both?

Part of it is how the character is, but I'd say a far greater part is the actor that plays the part, and the amount of heart he puts into it.

19. Favorite Clex moment? Chlark? Clana? Any other pairing on the show? Why?

For Clex, I think it will always be their initial introduction.
For Chlark, its the scene in the hospital room in "Arrival" where Chloe reveals what she knows, and Clark reveals all
For Clana, its the scene in "Hidden" where they wake up in bed together. Its silly, its romantic, its sexy, and both actors were terrific.
For Clois, its the end of "Crimson" where Lois comes to the loft to find out exactly what happened, and Clark gets to tease her for a change. I love that shift to serious when she says "I must've really liked you".
For Calicia, its the end of "Unsafe", when she comes to the barn to thank him, then walks away in tears and he can't let her go. Those 2 had INSANE chemistry.

And I could do more, but thats probably enough LOL

I know when it comes to Clark/Tom, you and me are *likethis* :)

Do you think a Clark pictorial by the episode will be fun?

It would be wonderful! And totally necessary now that we have to wait so long to see him again. I love the idea!

I would have never known you'd chose Clark as your favorite character. ;)

Exile and Phoenix own because of the characters. It felt as though *the characters* were the reason why they were at these places in their lives instead of a contrived plot. *sigh* The good ol' days.

Great answers! *sigh* I love me some Clark.

What can I say? I'm nothing if not constant. For me, Clark is the reason for the season.

I agree with so many of your answers! And I really wish they hadn't killed Alicia off so quickly. She was such a great character, and they did have absolutely wonderful chemistry together. Did you notice that when he was talking to his mom about Alicia and how he felt about her after their 'wedding,' he actually cried? Now Clark looks sad and agonized a lot on the show, but he almost never actually cries. But there was a tear!

And when Alicia died, Clark went crazy, cried again, and almost killed someone. This is more reaction than he ever showed over Lana, even when SHE died in season 5.

Hmmm. Methinks the Clark doth protest he loveth Lana too much.

I so agree with you about Alicia. In fact, I could do a whole main post about the Clark/Alicia relationship, and how entertaining it was in all its dysfunctional glory. I LOVED "Unsafe", even though I wouldn't defend what Alicia did at all. And I understood Clark throughout his interaction with her. I'm not sure he was truly in love with her, but I think his attraction and pull to her was a mighty force, and had she lived? I think Clark would've continued to be drawn to her.
