Tonights Glee, and Twitter

OK, is it just me, or is anyone else having an issue with twitter?  I didn't realize how addicted I was to it until I couldn't access it.  I'm not even getting a Fail Whale, it just won't load any tweets.

Now, onto tonights Glee

Honestly, I don't think I've enjoyed an episode of Glee this much in....well, I don't know when.  And it wasn't really about the songs, which were fun, and fine, but nothing spectacular.  I just liked the flow of this episode.  Unlike last weeks St Kurt episode, this one seemed to have a better handle on the Kurt stuff, and I liked that he didn't automatically fit in at the new school.  Rachel, although irksome, felt more like herself then she has for a very long time.  Whether I like Rachel, or not (and I don't), *this* is pretty much what she's supposed to be.  Neurotic, selfish, but also desperately seeking affection and approval.  And while I generally think Finn is a douche, here I was with him.  He shouldn't have lied about Santana, but the reality was that him and Rachel were not a couple at that time.  And what Rachel did to get back at him was particularly mean.  But hey, good for Puck that he was the one to pull back, and realize he didn't want to be that jerk again.  Quinn and Sam continue to be adorable (though I HATE that Quinn and Puck have no interaction).  And I found the Artie/Brittany stuff rather charming.

And the biggest shock in the episode for me?  Emma.  I sort of LOVED her in this episode.  Her counseling session with Finn and Rachel was actually funny.  I love that she's honest with Carl, and that she didn't go to sectionals to support Will.  She was kinda awesome.  And I totally didn't see the marriage coming.

At first, I though Will was being a bit self-serving by taking Emma's suggestion to spread the wealth around, solo-wise.  Like he was just agreeing to it to impress her.  But as the episode went by, I got behind him.  I liked that he wasn't taking any shit this week.  And I liked that he stood behind his decisions.

And Darren Criss continues to be very adorable.

And solo's from Sam/Quinn, Santana, and then Mercedes/Tina?  Yes please!  Throw in a duet between Brittany and Mike, and thats just gravy (although the direction of that number was pretty awful).

Its rather strange that my 2 favorite episodes this season, this one and Duets, did not have any Sue in them.  And I like Sue, but I do wonder what that says to me.

Try another browser.

I was getting the same thing in IE, works fine in Safari.

Turns out Safari spell checks fields that I have to force an add-on to IE to do for me.

I might have a new browser. I hate Firefox and don't like Chrome much, so maybe this might be what gets me to switch.

Wow, how odd. I'm hoping they just fix whatever the problem is, because I don't want to change browsers. I'm not even sure how. And it was working fine in IE earlier today.

Thanks for the tip though.

All you gotta do is load another browser, it will act just like another program on the computer.

Just like there is more than one program that will edit a Word doc or let you open your email, there is more than one program that will get you on the internet.

Firefox is here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

Safari for Windows is here:

http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Chrome is here:

http://www.google.com/chrome

Can you tell I work in tech support? There are like 15 ways to do everything on Windows, if you can't get it to open one way, then you just try another.

[There is a stripped down version of IE on Windows - IE (no add-ons)- but even that won't open twitter. I tried that too.]

During the install of all (I believe) you can import your bookmarks so you don't have to rebuild those.

Or I suppose you could load a twitter client, a lot of people use tweetdeck. I've tried it and don't like it much, but see that and other twitter downloads here:

http://www.labnol.org/software/twitter-apps-for-windows-desktop/11668/

I tried both tweetdeck and blu (didn't like the look of some of the others). I liked Blu better than tweetdeck, but it was just easier for me to switch to my phone if I have any issues with the web page...

Thanks for all the info. I'll definitely look into it when I get home. Is there any information as to why twitter is suddenly having this problem with IE?

I'm not very tech savvy, and I tend to avoid downloading programs because I never know what is going to conflict with what, and what will slowdown my machine. But I guess I'm going to have to give this a shot.

IE still isn't working, it's working on my phone so at work I'll just use that, but will go back to using Safari when I get home.

That's weird. I wonder what they're doing to try and fix that...

Looks like it's working now on IE, if you want to give it a try.

I watched Glee again tonight, and I'm so glad that you agree this was a really good episode. As you know, I've only seen the last few episodes, mostly because I like musical numbers (and there's nothing else on, LOL), but until tonight's episode, I had yet to be impressed. The duet by the two girls at the end was especially great. My least favorite was the number by the Warblers with the stiff choreography. I get that that's their style, but yeesh. The senior citizens group totally deserved 2nd place over them. :D

I wasn't cringing at any of the characters feeling dopey or heavy-handed. The teacher, Will, normally feels a bit skeevy to me, not sure why, but he came off better tonight than I've seen.

Does the group really all dislike Rachel as the one person said? I'm still a bit lost on some of the dynamics.

The Warblers were stiff, which made the tie at the end a bit contrived, but I was expecting it.

I think the reason Will came off better this week was because he was more in authority figure/teacher mode, as opposed to using the group/kids to further his own ambitions or personal agenda. The latter is always dicey.

As far as how the group feels about Rachel, its pretty inconsistent. Thats how the show started, and then they got away from it, and then they go back to it, etc. Its pretty much how the whole show is written, and why a lot of people find the writing such an issue with the show. Like, if you just turned in this season, you'd never really know that Quinn and Puck had a baby together, and were pretty on and off all year, with him saying he loved her in last seasons finale. I don't think they've had one scene together all season.

I liked this Glee ep, too. I appreciated that Kurt wasn't instantly the star of the Warblers, and I loved Darren Criss's stuff, particularly his performance and the look on his face when Kurt was auditioning for his solo.

Darren Criss is very, very good. Though it did strike me as a bit ironic that he was urging Kurt to fit in, while he is obviously the Warblers star performer.

I was in two minds about this episode. On one hand, I loved that Santana, Quinn, Sam, Mercedes, Brittany and Mike all got a chance to shine. Emma's advice was solid, and I'm glad Will took it. Then again, I'm wondering how long this will stick, because the show already did a "minorities" episode last season only to completely forget about it by the next episode. I really wouldn't be surprised if Rachel and Finn were back to taking lead next episode.

Speaking of, the Rachel/Finn drama bored AND irritated me. Not a good combo! I couldn't see why Rachel was being so fussy (and I agree with Finn that she was more perturbed by the whole Santana aspect of it than she was by the lying part), and her fit over not having a solo for Sectionals really rubbed me the wrong way. We keep going back and forth with her, re: being a good person and a team player, and I wish they'd just stick with one and not keep flip-flopping.

Oh, also also. I totally thought of you when Santana sang "Valerie". :D

I'm always amazed at how many songs there are that are called "Valerie" (4 that I know of). I guess I'm popular LOL

I agree with you that this episode was probably a novelty, though I've noticed that they have been spreading the songs out a bit better.

Whatever I feel about Glee, I don't think anyone can dispute how terribly inconsistent this show is with its characterizations. As much as I do like certain characters, its incredibly hard to get overly invested in characters that you don't feel like you can know since they bounce around constantly.

And I think Finn/Rachel is just a huge mistake. They are incredibly dull together, and have no believable sexual chemistry (IMO). Both of them spark so much better with just about everyone else. I never believe that Finn really liked Rachel.

Twitter was fail last night until about 9 p.m.

I wanted to slap Rachel last night. But then Schue did it for me. Go Schue!

Emma was WIN, yes. I was like YAY!

Kurt/Blaine. I want this SO MUCH. And yes, I liked it that he wasn't a good fit right away, too.

What did you think of the new character? I liked her snark, but I also thought she was a little stereotypical "overweight girl," too. I hope they develop her more.

I really enjoyed the duet between Chord and Quinn. But I missed Sue. Overall, better than last week.

My problems with twitter continued past 9, and in fact, are still an issue this morning. I tried to google to see if there was anything talking about the problem, but I couldn't find a thing. Very frustrating!

I think I'm happier with the show when Rachel is written to be slap-worthy. That works better for me then when they try to make her loveable.

I do think the new girl is something of a stereotype, but I also liked that she was written to be sort of confident in who she was. Like she didn't give a shit what anyone thought of her.

Sam and Quinn are very, very cute, and Dianna and Chord sound great together. But, I do have to admit, there instant connection, and apparent perfection, does need a bit more depth and development to really resonate. I'm not a fan of triangles, but I'd love a Sam/Quinn/Puck one.

I downloaded Google Chrome browser, and twitter is working fine, so its definitely an issue with IE and twitter. I had the same thing happen on 3 different computers, so I know its got to be something.

First full Glee ep I've seen since...well I think last year.

Not terribly bad..in addition to what you noted..at the end song there was a good bit of Finn-Quinn dancing and interaction (and with Puck at the end)..found that interesting.

YES! I noticed all that Finn/Quinn stuff in the dance number. But I suspect thats probably more because Dianna and Corey get along well in RL, or something. I'm not sure its supposed to be meaningful. I always thought there was tons more chemistry between Finn and Quinn then there ever was between Finn and Rachel.
