Its actually nice talking about shows other then SV for a change, LOL

The Event

Nice action this week, and the stuff with the plane passengers continues to be really unsettling.  I'm really liking the unlikely partnership of Sean and the FBI Agent.  But I think its telling that I can't even tell you what the FBI Agent's name is.  Thats how shallow the character development is on this show, and I think its a huge flaw.  Lots of stuff with Sean's kidnapped girlfriend, who has yet to become an interesting character to me.

Bottom line:  This show has the story and action down, but is severly lacking in the character department.  And without that, this show won't work.  With all these shows trying to become "the new Lost", they seemed to have forgotten that no one really watched Lost for the island.  It was about the characters.

Chase

I am trying really, really hard here not to get attached, because the ratings for this show are dismal, and I don't see ABC making any grand effort to save it.  Which means we'll probably get the 13 ep order, and then it will be done.  What a shame.  I like the show, and every week I find myself more attached to the characters, in stark contrast to The Event.  I feel certain that the show was laying the groundwork for an office romance between Annie and Jimmy, and I'm sorry that I won't get to see it play out, since Kelly Giddish and Cole Hauser so totally click together.  This weeks story was pretty compelling stuff, with a good twist.  And as the chasee started to unravel more and more, it was truly unsettling to see her kidnap the kid and run off with her.  Well done episode for a show that will not survive.

Glee

My favorite episode of Glee this season.  This is what the show should strive to be each week.  The songs were driven by the plot, they aren't the whole plot.  Not only was there no stunt casting, there wasn't even a full cast, as characters Sue Sylvester, Emma and Puck were all MIA.  We finally saw the adorable Mike Chang get some lines and character development, and he even got to sing.  Sure, it wasn't good, but that was sort of the point.  The duets between Mercedes and Santana, Rachel and Kurt, and Quinn and Sam were all homeruns.  The Brittany/Artie storyline was also pretty interesting.  I'm not ready to jump off Team Quick yet, but how can anyone deny how completely charming Sam and Quinn are together?  Kurt also got some nice development in this episode.  Overall, it was very strong.

On the downside, Rachel and Finn continue to bug the crap out of me.  And unfortunately, next up, another gimmick episode
.

Sons of Anarchy

I really liked SoA this week.  I've been dying for them to move the action back to Charming, and I really wanted to see more of the club, and I got both.  Sadly, the Irish storyline just isn't working for me.  I thought this was a really interesting episode for relationships, and how they're strong as a rock (Gemma/Clay), or falling apart (Jax/Tara and Unser/the Club).  So far, it looks like Stahl is holding to her part of the bargain (and throwing her lover under the bus), but I wonder how long it will last.  I find this precarious deal Jax has made to be pretty interesting.

Obviously the biggest development was Jax ending things with Tara.  I thought this move made a lot of sense.  I think Tara is just losing her identity completely the more she becomes entangled with Jax and the club, and frankly, I don't think thats who Jax fell in love with.  I don't think Jax was looking for another version of his mother, which is what Tara is morphing into, losing herself in the process.  But, however much I supported Jax's decision to end things, his decision to bang the porn star was just sleazy.

Law & Order:  LA

Wow, I really like this show.  Skeet continues to rock my world, as he's done in every single other thing he's been in.  And I just like the whole cast.  I do have to say, I think I prefer prosecutor Alfred Molina just a tad more then prosecutor Terrence Howard.

Project Runway

Why are they not down the final 3?  Why are they dragging this out another week when its perfectly obvious that Gretchen deserved to go home as much as April?  I really think this year is Mondo's to lose, and he is the best.  I have a soft spot for Michael C due to all the heinous crap he's had to put up with (and his dress last night was amazing!).  I feel nothing for Andy one way, or the other.  I was so glad that the judges finally hit April for making the same outfit every week, but why did it take then this long?

I've never been a Tara fan, but in the earlier seasons, you could really feel her struggle between her life as a doctor, and her distaste for the biker life. But its like once they got her together with Jax, they had her go way too far over to the other side. Even the way she dresses has gone to an extreme. I think they lost the character, really.

I keep waiting for someone to bust a cap in Stahl's boney ass. Its got to be coming, right?

I don't see how Chase can survive with its current ratings. :(

I can't believe how boring The Event has made Blair Underwood. I didn't even think that was possible. And Laura Innes is miscast as Sophia.

Watch LOLA. I think you'll like it.

Agreed about The Event, I'm less and less interested every week. The characters are so dull. :/ Pity, the idea had potential.

Right, the concept is interesting. But the concept can't make up for the fact that I don't even know most of the characters names, and more then that, I don't care.

I'm still a little behind on Chase and I've never watched the event. But I agree with what you say about the characters. I enjoy all of the Chase characters and they have a great team dynamic. I also really enjoy the criminal of the week. And a guaranteed Chase scene each week really goes a long way with me.

I found myself dancing along to Glee this week. It has been a LONG time since I wanted to dance to Glee. LOL! Mercedes and Santana's duet was wonderful and I wanted to vote them the best, but Quinn and Sam were definitely the rightful winners. Finn and Rachel got right on my nerves. But my friend, who is a Rachel fan explained that Finn was just cluelessly getting sucked into Rachel's overinflated sense of her own ability. It didn't read that way to me. I was furious that they thought they needed to throw the competition in order to lose. It would have helped if their first song had been REALLY AWESOME but their duet was just meh. My friend's explanation got me laughing though.

I'm a bit behind on SoA. I DID see Gemma throw that horrible cop lady a curve ball. Oh I didn't think I could love Gemma more. I'm happy about the spoiler of a Jax/what's her name break up. I didn't like her. Feel bad about the baby though. For that reason I probably shouldn't celebrate the breakup yet.

I usually watch Project Runway when there's a whole season marathon on. Great show.

You know, there really is something to be said for shows that provide reliable action. And Chase does that.

I don't know what to say about Rachel and Finn anymore. I just, flat out, don't like either one of them. And I'm not sure what to do with that, since the 2 of them are so heavily featured.

I'm not entirely sure if Gemma did throw the lady cop a curve, or if she did exactly what was in the script. Its kind of a mystery at this point. And even though Jax and Tara broke up, I'm sure they're not done yet.

I have to say, this has been the most boring crop of designers on PR since I've been watching.

OK, first of all, LOVE your icon.

I think Glee is a show that could burn out fast if it doesn't get a handle on itself. The gimmicky stuff, and guest stars, is going to get old fast. But solid stories with characters developing, like this week, has the promise of longevity.
