Since my "Unpopular Opinions" post went over so well, and you all seemed to have so much fun with it (and you were all so well mannered too, thanks for that!), I've been trying to come up with another idea to keep us entertained over the next few weeks.  I think I have a fun idea,  though it might be a little more complicated then the Unpopular Opinions.  I think I'm calling it "A Moment to Vent", but here's the twist....you can vent at a SV character (guest or regular), or you can vent at the writer of a particular episode, or you can vent at a particular director of an episode.  No venting at other fans, or fandom groups though.  I hope I'm explaining this well.  But a little feedback about wether you would think this would be fun would be appreciated.

My other idea is "Best Moments/Worst Moments".  And that can go one of 2 ways.  The way I conceived it was best acting moment for each SV regular, and some of their worst acting moments (and every SV actor has had those bad moments...we know it!).  But, it could also just be Best and Worst moments for the characters on the show.

So, let me know your thoughts folks.  Either of these sound like something you could have some fun with?

In the meantime

Cassidy, my girlfriend

Erica and Justin

Just Justin (looking "thrilled" to be there)

And more Tom

Upset that his make-up bag was left on the plane, poor lamb. I KID!

Love Tom #3 - he looks like he's trying not to giggle!

I like this one. More parity.

I'm sure Erica would've been gracious enough to share with Justin. ;)

And duly noted, one vote for #2. I may actually do both of them, because we do have several weeks to kill before SV returns, and my head starts exploding. ;)

You're killing me with the pretty Tommy pics!!

I'm thinking you've got time to do them all, but I like the best/worst moments.

I'll be driving down the road and be thinking to myself what I would have said on the Unpopular Opinion one. By the time I have time to actually think about it and post, everyone has moved on!!!! Story of my life!! But I enjoy reading everyone else's thoughts and opinions.

Well now, I don't want to kill you ;)

And there's no time limit to sharing an Unpopular Opinion. If something occurs to you, run on over and add it!

Love, love, love the pics. You keep brightening my awful, endless work days (with the added bonus of auditors this week) with your wonderful pic posts, and I can't thank you enough for that. *hugs you tight*

I think both of your ideas would be fun/cathartic for people, and we do have almost seven weeks until Smallville returns, so I vote for both. I was thinking about those worst acting moments the other day, and I really wonder where they come from. Is the actor not connecting with the material, are they tired, having a bad day? Is it the writing, giving them nothing to work with? Is it bad direction, or the lack of good direction? I am endlessly fascinated with how they make the magic.

You are very welcome. I'm extremely glad I could brighten your busy days.

Seems good/bad moments has the edge, so we might lead with that, and do the venting later.

Gorgeous shots!

I like both ideas. Best/Worst sounds easiest, but a Moment to Vent might be very cleansing. Just thinking of season 6...

Thanks! Some of them I wish were a bit sharper, but I did the best I could with the camera I had.

Looks like we'll get to both, or maybe I'll have another burst of inspiration. Uh-Oh! LOL

Oh, so can I! Why do you think I came up with it? I'm rewatching from the beginning, and I'm being reminded of moments where I wanted to smack someone. And thats the early seasons! I can't imagine how bad its going to get later.

The "Veinting moments" idea sounds great. And I like the "Best and worst moments", though more for the characters than for the actors. I know it may not happen here, on your LJ, but too often certain people would use any excuse to bash certain actors.;)

Wonderful pics! Yours and Rene's are the best SDCC Tom pics I've seen!

I had worried about the bashing actors thing myself, but I'm hoping that I could make it clear in the original post that its not an excuse to bash, and I'd prefer people not post if they can't express themselves constructively.

And Rene and I were sitting right next to each other. Coincidence? I think not! LOL

I like that both ideas have people interested. Makes it easier to fill up the time.

TW is aging so very beautifully? I think he's going to be gorgeous at every stage of his life.

Thanks for the latest pics. Your pics are really among the best fan photos this year! I find it strange that we have barely any HQ pics this year from more or less official sources or photo agencies. Some always transpire to the public, but not so much this time.

As for the vote, I lean towards the venting, although I haven´t even managed to post my unpopular opinions yet. lol

Thanks for saying that! I'm so proud of my little camera. He kicked some big camera butt!! LOL

Its never too late for the unpopular opinions. The response to that was so good, I may do it again during the hiatus for unpopular S10 opinions! :)

I say the best/worst moment one. The venting is a good idea but may lead to a negative mood.

Thank you for all the pictures.

I most likely won't participate in the venting thread. I find that those types of threads ultimately bring me down and I always feel as though some people take it too far. Maybe it's years of being a fan of Erica Durance and yet being subjected to people bashing her repeatedly on every single Smallville article known to man for the last 7 years. That being said, I'm sure that many of the people here could find a way to do it in a polite way and stay away from the actor bashing. I'm doing my best to remain positive and happy about the upcoming season and not let anything bring me down. Don't get me wrong...there have absolutely been some spoilers that have annoyed me to no end. But I'm trying so hard to just enjoy the ride this year and take in all the things I love about this show without letting what I don't love take away from the experience. We shall if I'm successful.

The Best/Worst moments sounds a bit more fun to me as I think there's more room to be positive while still pointing out some of the less than stellar moments over the years.

Either way, I'm sure you'll get some great participation. Thanks again for the pictures. They are very good quality.

Of course participation is up to the individual. I understand the concerns about things being overly negative. I admit that when it comes to SV, I've come to lean towards the pessimistic side because as a Clark fan, I think thats what the show has earned from me. And while I think S9 had some good stuff in it, I don't believe that it was an overall fabulous season for Clark at all. And I flat out don't like Souders/Peterson.

So, I guess what I'm saying is my journal can be less then optimistic from time-to-time. I do understand and respect that this isn't everyones cup of tea. :)

Best and Worst seems to have more fans, so I think I'm going to do that one. But, I'm going to do 2 phases. The first one being best/worst character moments, and the second phase being best/worst actor performances. And with this, I'm going to strongly urge everyone to keep it to 3 in each category. That way it keeps it even between all characters and actors, and it also restrains anyone who is tempted to go off on a rant (which I very much identify with, LOL!)

Thanks for the kind words on the pics. I'm so pleased with them.

I'm sure everyone will keep it respectful. I don't think you are ever dishonest about the way you feel about the show and I don't have a problem with that at all. Sometimes venting is good for me...and sometimes it's just leaves me cold and not feeling any better afterwards. I really did enjoy much of Season 9--or at least, what I enjoyed outweighed what I didn't. I'm sorry you didn't feel the same way and I respect that. I will admit that there were times in Season 9 where I felt as though I had to go with what I saw on screen and just ignore the commentary from the producers because it didn't make sense. (Particularly when it came to poor Clark apologizing to everyone.)

I'm a Clark fan too. He is my favorite person on the show and always has been. I've been a Superman fan since I was a child and I think that Tom Welling has done a stellar job of of bringing such a complex and heartfelt character to life over the last 9 years. His Clark Kent is such a sincere soul. But then again, the character, if he's written correctly in ANY medium, should be a sincere and humble soul. Tom has gotten it RIGHT, despite what his detractors will try to tell you. Sometimes I think it gets lost that many Clois fans are huge Clark fans as well. I'm not saying that you do this...but I do think it happens sometimes. Not all "shippers" are the same and many of us hate the entire concept of a "ship." I care deeply about Clark's development outside of his relationship and I care deeply about the show validating his choices and his heroism. The fact that I truly love the Clark/Lois relationship in every medium does not detract from my love for Clark as an individual or as the star of the show. I try to stay optimistic because I find that it helps me to enjoy the show more---but I totally understand that other people find it more comforting to look at things in a more negative light. Neither is right or wrong.

It sounds like what you are suggesting is perfectly harmless and could be quite fun for everyone involved. I like the idea of limiting the worst moments to 3 so that it doesn't wind up as a bash fest on any one actor. I'm sure you'll provide guidelines to keep everyone polite. It will be really tough to just choose 3 "Best" moments for people. There are some obvious ones that come to mind particularly for Tom....but I feel like it would be a challenge to find the more subtle moments of greatness.

Thanks. I do try to be very upfront and honest. I understand my take on the show can be very critical and harsh when I am displeased, but its just the way I roll.

Tom has gotten it RIGHT, despite what his detractors will try to tell you.

I think so as well. If he hadn't, the show wouldn't be 10 years old.

I'm trying to roll with it (SV). I just wish that the spoilers we had for Clark, individually, sounded more intriguing to me.
