Comic Con - Day 3

Tomorow is the big day.  I'm hoping nothing goes askew.  I'll probably be getting on line at around 4-ish.  Thats as early as I can see myself doing it.  I can only hope its enough.  I think it will be.

Today we spent the whole day in Hall H.  Thats the biggest hall.  Personally, I thought it kind of sucked.  Ballroom 20 is much nicer.

The first thing we saw was the Lost panel.  No real exciting spoilers, but the panel was great fun, and the Hurley guy showed up (I can't recall his name), Michael Emerson (Ben), Nestor Carbonell (Richard), and Josh Holloway (SAWYER!!).  At the end of the panel, Dominic Monaghan came out.  It was loads of fun, and the audience was very enthusiastic.

Then came a panel for a movie called Soloman Kane, based on a comic book.  The movie stars James Purefoy, who was there in person.  He's a doll, and very charming.  The movie looks INCREDIBLE!!, so spread the word.  They are looking for an American distributor.

After that, came the Mike Judge film, Extract, with stars Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis.  The panel was very boring, and Judge was an odd guy, who was dead boring, and not all that funny.  Jason and Mila seemed nice.

Then came the Sony panel with sneakpeaks of Zombieland and 2012.  I don't know about Zombieland.  It could be fun, but it could also suck.  Cast members Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone were on hand, as well as the films director.  This panel was also sort of dull, though Woody seems like a fun guy.

For the 2012 panel the only person that appeared was Roland Emmerich.  He seems like a very nice guy, and I have no doubt that the SFX will be incredible.  But it looks like a pretty routine disaster movie.  And I couldn't help but think that the lack of cast appearances was not exactly a vote of confidence.

And then came the big guns... IRONMAN 2.  This panel was awesome!  Funny, and great clips, and lots of cast members.  Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johannsen, Sam Rockwell all appeared.  LOVED IT!  Can't wait to see the film next year,  Downey is amazing!

Yes, I read the new Ausiello spoilers, and I mostly think they suck.  Even with Tom onboard as a co-exec producer, I still don't have a tremendous amount of hope for this season.

I watched the LOST panel on YouTube, but without all the videos they showed. Still, it was great fun. Josh Holloway was a hoot! Lurch? Frankenstein? hee! I also watched some RDJ bits. Love that man! I'm glad you could be there for Iron Man 2. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth by those who couldn't get in!

Geoff Johns just tweeted that he was going to dinner with "the Smallville crew." I wonder if that includes Tom? He could be anywhere, Val! Good luck tomorrow, I hope you get in and have the time of your life!! Just think, you'll be breathing the same air as Tom!! :)

Thanks for keeping us updated! I can't wait to hear all about tomorrow!

She could collect empty bottles and fill them with air from the room and sell them to us on eBay!

Wow, pack some snacks for a 4:00 am line-up!

The post-Lex spoilers never excite me as much as the old days, but more darkness and guilt for Clark is very "meh"

Tom-in-the-flesh! You're seeing Tom in the flesh! So terribly exciting!

Good luck with the waiting and getting into the panel. My fingers are crossed for you.

Have tons of fun and remember as much as you can, so we can all live vicariously through you!

Don't let the new spoilers harsh your squee at all. You're going to see TOM live tomorrow! Actually today.

Ironman2 sounds amazing. I'm glad the panel was also entertaining. I bet RDJ was a hoot.

I'm going to be sitting at my PC with my phone in hand tomorrow skimming for any and all reports. Hopefully, a video will surface shortly after the presentation.

Have a FABULOUS time, Val. Give Tom a big squeal for me! I can only imagine how deafening the cheers are going to be when he walks out.

I nearly fell asleep watching the trailer for that film. I can see it being released in limited release and then disappearing. Jason is usually very entertaining, but that's when he's talking about stuff that is interesting and I don't think "Extract" is that.

But it looks like a pretty routine disaster movie. And I couldn't help but think that the lack of cast appearances was not exactly a vote of confidence.

Every time I get a Emmerich film I am disappointed. I loved the work he did with Dean Devlin, but since the split? "10,000 BC", "The Day After Tomorrow"? Big spectacles that are just lacking.

"Iron Man 2" sounded like a great time.

Have fun tomorrow (today)!

I'm so glad the Lost and Iron Man panels were fun. I'm really looking forward to both.

Those Ausiello spoilers leave me feeling pretty flat but I'm still hoping. It's always darkest before dawn and all that.
