Happy Holiday Wishes

I hope all my flisties enjoyed their Christmas, or whatever holiday they celebrate, or just their December 25th. :)  I was so busy for the last 2 days, I didn't get the chance to extend my good wishes before the big day.

In any case, here's a picture of my insane Christmas tree for all to marvel at.  Its 7' of lights and ornaments.  Its the bane of my existence.

I'm trying to get a good picture of one of my cats in the reindeer antler hat that I bought, but so far they just give me death glares when I force it upon their little furred heads.  And my cat Winter has a terrible cold, so he's a cranky little white fuzzball at the moment.

You want it? Take my tree...Please! If it wasn't for family tradition, I'd have a 2' fiber optic.

Beautiful decorating job. I thought I had it bad with all our family ornaments but it looks like you've got hundreds! And that's a great Santa on top. Alas, our star is leaning distinctly to starboard.

Thank you. The amount of ornaments on this tree is just nuts. And the Santa on top used to have a lit lantern in his hand, but thats long since stopped working. But we still like him.

Beautiful tree...My mom got a 14 foot tree one year. Cathedral ceilings at her condo. Yeah....it was Ginormous.

14'? How the heck do you decorate that? I think 7' is way too much.

Well, remember I'm 6'8". So I have about half of that covered with my reach. The rest was covered by a step ladder and, since the tree was right next to the stair, we went up the stairs to get the rest.

Wow! That's an impressive tree. It looks like it took forever to decorate...I hope you had a good holiday. :-) I was wondering where you disappeared to, but I figured you were just busy with holiday stuff.

Honestly, we've stopped trying to do it in one day, or one weekend, and we usually decorate it over a week. A bit each day. Otherwise its just too overwhelming. And yeah, holiday stuff has kept me mucho busy.

What an absolutely gorgeous display. Insane, but gorgeous nonetheless. ;) I take my hats off to you!

Hope you've had a Merry Christmas, and that the furball will get better soon. *hugs*

Insane is definitely the right word. I wouldn't even know how to photograph the rest of the house, and the Christmas decorations which are EVERYWHERE!

The furball is off to the vet in about 15 minutes.

Yay! What a beautiful tree! I'm glad you had a great Christmas. I did too! :)

I've also been trying to get a picture of Chip in his Santa outfit, but he too gives me the death glare. :\

Wow, your tree is beautiful! And amazing! I'm so happy to see another person who decorates a tree like I do, with every inch covered in ornaments. My family thinks I'm insane, but I'm relentless. I don't stop until every possible space is filled. We start out doing it together, but everyone else gives up long before I'm finished. :)

Most of my ornaments are German blown glass, I like anything sparkly. After I get all the regular ornaments on, I fill the tiniest spaces with about 50 tiny ones I have. Finally, I add the clip-on birds, they go on top of the branches. It's a ton of work, but sitting in front of it, with the room lit only by the glow of the tree and a few candles, with Christmas carols playing, makes it all worthwhile.

Someone gave my dog some reindeer antlers, too, but every time we put them on her, she drags her head on the rug until she manages to get them off again. LOL!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Val! *hugs*

My family is definitely a tradition as well. Its been this way since I was a baby, and despite all my gripping, its probably going to be this way until I'm ready to kick the bucket.

We have loads of glass, and a little animals all over the tree. My family is big on Coca-Cola polar bears. I even have a Joe Montana ornament on the tree. My favorite is my glass Bumble (from the Rudolph cartoon). I adore the Bumble.

Still working on the antler picture. I'm sure I will prevail!!
