Hi Everyone!

Wow, its been, like, a gazillion years since I've posted in my journal.  Its a combination of things....been busy, spending more time away from the computer, smallville hiatus, sinus infection, and so on.

So, whats been going on with me, you ask?  (OK, maybe you didn't ask, but this is my journal, so I'm telling you anyway!)

I started working out with a trainor once a week, and I've also started doing yoga using a DVD I bought.  So far, its working out well.  I'm also trying to eat better, and keep active.

Work is wrapping up to our fiscal year end, which is tomorrow, then comes 2 weeks of closing procedures, thats a lot of stress, and boredom mixed in.  But tomorrow, most of the office is going out to get a drink and celebrate the ending of our year.  Should be fun!

I have a July 4th party to go too, so Yay! for that.

Its 3 weeks until Comic Con!!!!!!!!!!  I am beyond excited.  Not only for the Con itself, but for the trip.  I need a vacation.  I know Comic Con isn't the most relaxing of events, but we planned it out so that we get there on Tuesday, a day early (I have the 4 day pass, so I'll be going to Preview Night this year), and we don't leave until Tuesday night.  So, San Diego beach, Here We Come!!!  I also made dinner reservations at a very nice restaurant in La Jolla for Tuesday night, so that should be fun.

Not much early SV news to discuss.  Apparently they are playing things close to the cuff.  I guess I'm never really sure why they take this approach.  To me, when you have a show like SV that has that strong 'net following, and you aren't getting ANY support from your network, then buzz would be a good thing.  But if you say nothing, then no one is talking about you, are they?  I understand that they are probably leaving things till CC, but still....

Speaking of other spoilers for other shows (WARNING, CASTING SPOILER AHEAD).....

Mitch Pileggi is going to be joining Supernatural as a recurring character, in the role that he played of the boys grandfather.  I'm not sure how thats going to work, as I'm pretty sure I saw him get killed, but who am I to question?

I don't know if anyone else but me watches Deadliest Catch, but seeing the events that led to Captain Phil's stroke, and seeing him get lifted off the boat on a stretcher was a wrenching scene.

I'm not really watching any other summer show.  I'm so boring when it comes to television.  Haven't seen any movies lately either.

I did make some new icons recently, because I thought I needed to break out of having over 100 icons of Tom Welling.  Not that thats a bad thing, mind you.  Its just that I felt a bit like I was stuck in a rut.

So, drop by and tell me what you've been doing this summer.  Or just say Hi!  Miss chatting with all my flisties :)

Yes, She Lives! *hugs back* Honestly, I just couldn't think what to post for the longest time. I figured it was just time for me to say Hey.

I can totally understand why people get hooked on yoga. There is something very calming about the whole thing, so you are working your mind and body.

Good luck on the job front. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Do you think Tom will come to CC again? I really hope so, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. Just in case.

My sister is a big fan of The Mentalist and In Plain Sight, if that counts for anything.

How jealous am I that you're going to Comic Con?!?!? You better take TONS of pics and post them!
And by 'better' I mean 'please', of course.

Oh, don't worry, there will be tons of pictures. Now that found out SV and SPN will be in Ballroom 20, I think I may be able to get even better pics then I did last year. Much better lighting!

Well, one good things about yoga is that there are variations in all of the poses. So, if you aren't flexible enough to do something a certain way, you can put a knee down, or a hand down, or use a towel to help you stretch. And its a great way to improve your flexibility. I used to be all bendy, but I haven't kept up with it, so I'm not as flexible as I once was. I'd like to get that back.

Yes, the Sesame Street ones are new. The pictures cracked me up, so I just used them.

Its good to be back around :)

Hi!

Love your Sesame Street avi's (especially Cookie Monster). Those are among the new ones?

Comic Con is in only three weeks?!?!?

Holy summer solstice where did the summer go?

Have a great time there -- and best of luck getting a good seat at the Smallville session!

Yes, the Sesame Street ones are new. Cookie Monster was my Boy! when I was a little kid. I had to use him in one.

Last year, I was on line at about 5am, and I'll be doing the same this year. Only this year, my hotel is right across the street! And Ballroom 20 is set up much better.

I haven't been posting much of anything either, or commenting, for that matter. I'm feeling a bit disconnected from fandom in general, and the limitations imposed by my back problems and my work schedule aren't helping. I figure it will sort itself out as SDCC approaches.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to living vicariously through you again this year! :) Our fiscal year closes tomorrow, too, but I have two months of closing procedures instead of two weeks, and I'm not allowed to take vacation during that time. I think the chances of Tom showing up are good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

What other panels are you thinking of attending? I wonder when all the times and locations will be set, so you know what your possible conflicts are.

Since hiatus started I caught up with a few series I didn't watch during the season, plus a couple of other old shows on DVD I never watched when they were on. As far as summer shows, I'm watching True Blood and Burn Notice, and waiting for my other summer shows to start (White Collar, Psych, and Warehouse 13).

I also watched a couple of new shows that I might stick with, Rookie Blue and Memphis Beat. Rookie Blue is about five rookie cops (one is Missy Peregrym, who was Molly Griggs in Delete, and another is Charlotte Sullivan, who played Maxima), and Eric Johnson plays a homicide detective. Memphis Beat, with Jason Lee and Alfre Woodard, really took me by surprise. I didn't expect to like it, but it charmed me.

I have way too many Tom icons, but I can't seem to bring myself to get rid of more than a handful any time I try. :)

You've probably already seen this, but just in case, Warner Bros. TV's SDCC plans:

I saw the news from IGN, and I am just FLIPPING OUT! that SV and SPN have been moved into Ballroom 20. And Sons of Anarchy will be in the same room, later in the day, which means we'll probably need to sit through the Glee panel, and a panel for one of those Seth McFarlane cartoons, or else take the risk and leave and try to come back. Its easier just to stay put, really.

We haven't decided what else we want to see because they really haven't announced the movie stuff yet. As for TV stuff, I'm mostly just interested in SV, SPN and SoA. But, maybe for V, Human Target, and Chuck. We'll see about those. Oh, yeah, and Burn Notice, but I'm not sure when that is yet.

When are you getting another job again? The one you have now is too brutal!

Yay for ComicCon! If there's a Hellcats panel too, maybe you can have a double dose of Tommy? Excited to read your reports!

Glad that your work is winding down a little & relaxing times await!

I don't have anything as exciting as ComicCon on the horizon but am hoping to see Crowley from SPN at a local Con in a few weeks!

I haven't seen anything to indicate there will be a panel for Hellcats, so I think I'm out of luck there :(

I love Crowley! If he's half as much fun in person as he was on the show, you should be in for a fun time. I hope they keep him as a recurring character next season.

Hey you! *smishes*

I wish I could swim. There just isn't a pool around that I like. Swimming is awesome, and I'm a very good swimmer.

I think what attracts me so much to yoga is the mental stillness. I think I need that as much as the exercise.

I promise to relay every CC detail I can remember, and I'll be taking pictures like crazy. I will post all the good ones.

The heat has been brutal in NY for the last few days. It broke a little today. I don't mind the heat so much, but I hate the humidity.

I've adored Cookie since I was a little kid. I love him.

*tacklehug*

I think fandom in general (or maybe it's just my f-list?) slows down during the summer months. I try to at least skim my usual haunts, but there's not a lot I have to say - which is unusual for me. :D

I have a trip to visit my daughter in Ocean City next week, then SDCC shortly after that. How awesome is it that they put SV and SPN in the bigger ballrooms? I will be up at the crack of dawn to get in line with you. My friend Krysti will probably not be that motivated since she's not a SV fan. She is DYING for the Castle panel though which is later that same day.

Since I had to buy all my day passes separately, I don't have a ticket for preview night. I waited just a tad too long to get my tix this year. I'm hoping my cousin's band will be playing somewhere that weekend so I can go see her. She's a local and has promised to give Krysti and I a tour. If you need any local information, just ask and I can ask her.

I was doing the yoga classes at the fitness center I joined, but I have sort of slacked off. I feel more productive for what I really want to do (shed some pounds) by doing more cardio stuff - cycling, treadmill, weight machines. I liked yoga though and I'll probably join in again at some point.

I can't believe that the CW isn't going to have a Hellcats panel. They're having a Nikita thing, so I'm hopeful there will be something for Hellcats too. Tom x 2 would be a wonderful thing. I think I'm going to bring my husband's "good" camera - even though I really didn't want to lug it around. It'll be worth it to get some nice shots to share. I have an HD video camera too, but I'm sure there will be enough others videotaping the panel, and I'd rather take my own photos.

Do you think 5am is early enough? I was honestly planning on earlier. I want front row. :)

Btw, very excited to see you again too!

I think summer is a busy time for everyone, and I hope everyone is spending more times outdoors and doing stuff. At least thats what I'm trying to do.

Last year, I was in line before 5am, and I intend to do the same this year. And being right across the street makes life easier. Though last season, the SV panel did something that no other panel I went to did, and thats let certain "special" people in early, and by the time they let the line in, the first 3 or so aisles were already full. I thought that was all sorts of bullshit, actually, since they reserve a section off to the side for press and such. But apparently the SV VIP people plopped themselves down right in the middle. It was kind of rude, I thought. So, even though we were in the first 20 that got in, we were still in row 6 or so. Great seats, but I wanted better!

According to my trainer, you should mix in a few different disciplines. So, cardio, strength training and yoga would all be important, but none of them are enough alone. So, thats what I'm going for. A mix of all of it.

You'd think with all the shows that are going to be at CC, Hellcats would be there too. What the heck at this point? Most of the shows have nothing to do with Comics/Sci-Fi anyway.

We can definitely be each others early line buddies. I'm willing to be there ridiculously early!

And we need to hang out a little. My sister is excited to meet you.

Hey, you! *hugs* Long time no see!

I hope the exercise regime is going well. I'm on a eat less/workout more kick myself. Let's see how long it lasts!

You're going to Comic Con? That's awesome! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Tom chooses to come this time as well, just so you can see him in person!

I've been busy with work, but that's not stopping me from watching a LOT of TV. Old ones, new ones, whatever I can get my hands on. Currently in the process of watching S1 of The Mentalist, Parenthood and Justified (although I haven't started this one yet) among many others. ;)

*hugs* you back. I hope you're having a great summer!

This is going to be my 2nd Comic Con, but I got the 4 day pass this time, so I get preview night too. I'm very excited.

Justified is an awesome show! Loved it.

Well, I couldn't care less about Yoga. But I do love those Yoga Pants. STRETCHY! STRETCHY! pants.

In addition to SPN and SV, I will require you to attend The Big Bang Theory and Fringe and file a Report. Also see if Anna Torv and Mark Valley cut each other dead at the Con. Remember, you are an Embedded Reporter Back to Me. You are not there to have fun. Take One for the Team.

Oh, I've had yoga pants WAY before I started yoga.

Oh no, I don't know if I can complete your mission. We did TBBT last year, and it wasn't so good. For such a funny show, the people in it aren't so funny. And I don't watch Fringe, so I'd just be clueless in that panel. Also, I think Fringe is on saturday, and chances are good I'll be locked up in Hall H all day because thats one of the days they usually bring out the big movies. But, if I can swing it, I'll do it.

I was so bummed that Anna Torv and Mark Valley didn't work out. They were such a gorgeous couple...for a minute.

Hey! Long time no see! I can’t wait to hear about Comic con! I’m not going to speculate whether Tom will attend or not, because every time I try to speculate about him, I’m always wrong. He’s a little unpredictable and I have the feeling that he decides that kind of thing at the last minute.
Summer is not a busy time in my line of work. But I had a series of small bad lucks this spring and an absolute horror story involving one of my persian cats. But she’s fine and healthy now.
I think it’s great that you decided to get into a fitness routine. I wish I had the willpower. I did yoga as a kid, and it's like riding a bicycle, I never lost the ability.

I'm trying to not even think about Tom coming, or not. I just don't want to jinx it. If he's there, thats awesome, and if he's not, I'll still enjoy the panel.

I'm glad to hear the fur baby is doing OK. My guys are doing great, *knock-on-wood*, but I need to find time to take them to the vet for their yearly check-up.

There's no such thing as too much Tom Welling :-D

As SV Magazine ceased publication last year ( I think), it does look like this summer TPTB are playing the series close to the vest for news on the tenth season. As TW hinted in a recent interview, we fans seem to have more of an influence now than before when SV had a number of problems both in front of and behind the camera. Whether the actually LISTEN to us is another matter. But then TW said the tenth would be the last season then backed down from that soon afterward.

IMO there MAY be a chance TW would make an appearance at ComicCon like he did last year, but I wouldn't count on it since last year's promotions of the series was the blockbuster-oriented and publicity-shy TW might have been encouraged to make a public appearance.

Oh, you are so right about Tom. Never enough of him!

I'm not counting on anything. It just doesn't pay to get my hopes too high. I think, this being the last year, he just might show. But then again, maybe he'll be too busy. Who knows with him? He keeps us guessing.

Hey you!!! *Waves*. I've been catching up on the football, and trying to move out of my student digs. I've got a new house to live in and then I'm going on a roadtrip, between Colorado and New Jersey, so I'm preparing.

How is the yoga? I've always wanted to take it up but never had the time which seems strange to me.

And I'm so jealous of you getting to go to CC!!! Think Tom will show?

A roadtrip? Sounds like fun :)

Yoga is good. My biggest issue so far is finding the time for it. So, yeah, thats a problem.

I don't know about Tom. I wouldn't even try to predict what he's going to do. He's an enigma.
